Amanda Anderson

Amanda Anderson PhD, LMFT

Dr. Anderson holds master and doctoral degrees in Marriage and Family therapy, specializing in couples therapy. She works with individuals, couples, and families. Dr. Anderson utilizes a systemic perspective that acknowledges the interactions between the client and the many facets of their life story. She is passionate about relationships, people, and creating a safe, therapeutic environment where change and healing can take place.

Dr. Anderson’s therapeutic process includes family mapping, emotional identification, and unearthing internal processes that maintain problem behaviors. Rather than a surface level “band-aid” fix, Dr. Anderson’s treatment style involves investigating life lessons, family and relationship patterns, and belief systems. Areas of expertise include communication, marital/relationship issues, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, infidelity, and family therapy.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Anderson is an AAMFT Approved Supervisor, professor, and author of #relationshipgoals: The New Relationship Manual, available for purchase on Amazon here. As a lifelong Harborite, Dr. Anderson understands the struggles of the local community as well as recognizes the resilience and big hearts of its residents.
